BUYER QUESTIONS

Buyer questions about CNC turned parts

Fit and capability

Are you a factory or a trading company?

A factory — 13 mill-turn and 16 Swiss-type machines in Dongguan, China.

More about: Are you a factory or a trading company?

NOW CNC is the export brand of Shenzhen Mingzhouda Hardware Technology Co., Ltd. The brand and manufacturing operation belong to the same company.

Factory address: Building 1, 1st Floor, No. 20 Weixing Road, Chashan Town, Dongguan, Guangdong, China.

What parts are a good fit?

Custom mill-turn and Swiss-type components, from 200 pieces.

More about: What parts are a good fit?

Our focus is turned components with milled or drilled features. Orders from 200 pieces suit trial runs; regular production runs start at 2,000 pieces. Block-shaped milled parts are not our focus, and we assess them case by case.

What sizes can you make?

Ø0.5–200 mm (0.02–7.87 in) outside diameter, with part length ≤ 300 mm (≤ 11.81 in).

More about: What sizes can you make?

Our batch focus is Ø1–100 mm (0.04–3.94 in) parts in runs of around 2,000 pieces.

Review the diameter range and drawing checks.

Quote and order

Why is unit price lower at 2,000 pcs than at 200?

One setup is shared by ten times as many parts, so each carries 1/10 of it.

More about: Why is unit price lower at 2,000 pcs than at 200?

This is setup arithmetic, not an actual unit-price ratio; material and cycle time per part do not fall in the same way.

What should I send for a quotation?

Send the drawing revision, material grade, quantity and inspection requirements.

More about: What should I send for a quotation?

We quote new parts from a PDF drawing with dimensions, tolerances and material; STEP / PDF / DWG files are welcome alongside it. Include the part number. Identify critical dimensions, datums, finish requirements and the records needed for acceptance.

Use our RFQ checklist · Questions to ask any supplier first.

When will I receive a first reply?

We reply to every inquiry within 24 hours on working days (China time).

More about: When will I receive a first reply?

This is the first reply to your inquiry. With a complete PDF drawing and the quantity, the formal quotation follows within one working day. Weekends are excluded.

What is the typical lead time?

Typical lead time is 15–20 days.

More about: What is the typical lead time?

Large batches or outside finishing can take longer; your quotation states the date for your order.

Quality and trust

How do you control cosmetic quality on anodized or plated parts?

We run trial batches at the finishing supplier before production and inspect every cosmetic part.

More about: How do you control cosmetic quality on anodized or plated parts?

See the anodized sleeves case for the supplier trials and visual inspection criteria.

What tolerances apply to my drawing?

Tolerances on your drawing apply as drawn.

More about: What tolerances apply to my drawing?

For untoleranced dimensions we follow the general tolerance standard stated on the drawing; if none is stated, we work to ISO 2768-mK.

BY MANUFACTURING TOPIC

Part-specific buyer questions

Mill-turn manufacturing

What parts do you manufacture?

We make custom turned components with milled, drilled or threaded features. Shafts with flats, sleeves with cross holes and threaded parts with wrenching features are examples of the geometry we review. Our focus is complete mill-turn components rather than block-shaped milled parts, which we assess case by case.

Do you have your own production equipment?

Yes. We run 13 mill-turn and 16 Swiss-type machines in our own factory in Dongguan. View equipment

Can I compare several batch sizes?

Yes. Send one drawing revision and the quantity breaks you want quoted, so the quotations can be compared line by line.

Do you make block-shaped parts?

Sometimes. Block-shaped parts are not our focus; we assess them case by case from the drawing.

Shafts and pins

Can Swiss-type turning help with a slender shaft?

Often, yes. A guide bushing can support slender bar stock close to the cutting point while material feeds through the machine. We have Swiss-type lathes; the actual route depends on your shaft diameter, length, features, stock and required checks.

What shaft features can be reviewed together?

Turned shoulders and mating diameters can be assessed alongside cross holes, flats or slots. The relationship among those features matters as much as their individual sizes; the drawing defines the datum and the inspection requirements for your part.

Are the photographed shafts standard parts?

No. We produce custom shafts and pins against an agreed drawing. The photographs show steps, shoulders and cross features on parts photographed in our factory. Each inquiry carries its own geometry, material and production quantity.

Sleeves and bushings

Can turning and milling features be combined on a sleeve?

Yes, when the drawing and tool access allow it. A sleeve can combine a turned outside diameter and bore with cross holes, flats or other milled details. The route is set by the full geometry and may involve more than one operation.

Which sleeve features matter for inspection?

The bore, outer diameter, seating face and shoulders define the main inspection points. We review their size and relationship against the drawing, including which surfaces locate in the assembly and which dimensions apply after treatment.

Can I request different quantities for the same bushing?

Yes. Send one revision and compare several batch sizes with the same material and acceptance scope. The smaller release and any repeat demand should be identified separately when you ask for a quotation.

Threaded components

Can a turned thread and wrench flats be made on one component?

They can be planned as part of the same mill-turn component. Turning establishes the cylindrical body and thread; suitable live tooling can produce flats or other cross features. Actual setup count and tool access depend on the drawing and machine configuration.

What should be defined for a threaded interface?

The thread designation, engagement length and mating features belong in the specification. A sealing face or locating shoulder may need a separate requirement from the thread itself. We use those details to review the machining and inspection route.

Do you sell standard threaded fittings?

No. We manufacture custom components to an agreed drawing and production quantity. The photographed examples show cylindrical bodies, external threads and wrenching flats. Thread designation, material and the mating interface are reviewed for each order.
